EMDR Intensives in Colorado
Get un-stuck, get relief, and get your life back… in a matter of days.
Short-term, accelerated EMDR for anxiety, phobias, & trauma
You have a problem you need to resolve now so that your life can move forward.
Maybe there was an experience that left a mark, and a feeling of crushing weight has lingered over you since - like a car accident, a health scare, or a significant loss. Or maybe there’s an upcoming event that has you in a constant state of anxious anticipation - like a big meeting, stressful presentation, or social situation. This persistent problem is interfering with your quality of life - you have high anxiety, are easily triggered, struggle to relax, and find yourself unable to “just let it go.”
Maybe this sounds familiar…
You’re used to being able to manage a lot - but at times you feel off kilter and overwhelmed in situations where you really need to be calm and clear headed
You know how to take care of things and can handle a lot of responsibility, but you’re struggling to take care of yourself - it’s either not happening at all, or it’s happening in the wrong ways (hello, self medicating and avoidance)
People see you as strong on the outside, but on the inside you often feel out of control of your thoughts or feelings - you don’t want to be as upset as you are, but you’re not sure how to cope
You keep trying to change something but you can’t figure out what you need exactly, so you continue to feel trapped - in negative thoughts, intense emotions, or situations you don’t know how to change
You don’t have time to just sit in this anymore because the cost is too high - it’s holding you back from living life the way you want to. Life’s not slowing down, so you can’t afford to either. Something has to change, and it has to happen soon.
A short-term EMDR Intensive can help you find resolution and recapture your quality of life, in days instead of months or years, without getting stuck in a process that feels like it takes forever to change things.

What is an EMDR Intensive?
Intensives are the solution to feel better faster.
Most therapists say there's no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Your journey through therapy will be just as unique as your personality, experiences, needs, and goals. And yet, most therapy follows a one-size-fits-all approach... hour long session blocks attended once a week to make gradual progress over months or years. It can leave you feeling stuck in your pain or at a plateau with your progress.
Intensive therapy is totally different.
Instead of going to therapy once a week over time, you set aside longer chunks of time less frequently - usually over consecutive days or weeks. Intensive therapy accelerates the healing process and gets to deeper resolution more quickly. In a 3-hour intensive session you can experience the benefits and results of a lot of therapy in a greatly reduced period of time. In a 2 or 3 day intensive you can accomplish what may take months or years in traditional therapy.
AN EMDR INTENSIVE CAN HELP YOU…
Resolve difficult experiences quickly without the need for a lot of appointments
Avoid feeling overwhelmed by emotion in the healing process
Eliminate stressful time in between sessions feeling like things were left unfinished
Skip long wait times to start with a new therapist when you need help now
Make therapy more cost effective in the long run
Overcome feeling stuck in ongoing weekly therapy
A two-day intensive is equivalent to months of therapy.
Intensive Therapy is Results Driven, Not Time Driven
What makes intensives so powerful is that we're able to set a goal we can work towards meeting within the time we've allotted, instead of going to therapy weekly for an unspecified period of time until you accomplish a goal. It’s hard to squeeze everything into a 50 minute session - just as you’re getting into things, the time is up - but Intensives give us extra time and flexibility to create an experience that is highly customized and personalized to you. We use EMDR as a foundation to build on because it is structured to keep us focused, and effective to deliver results quickly - but I also weave in 25 years of experience with other approaches as well to tailor the process to what works best for you.
-
Maybe a friend, family member, doctor, or therapist told you about EMDR - you’ve heard about the dramatic results they’ve seen or experienced, and that you should try it. But what is EMDR and how does it work?
EMDR is a specific and evidence based protocol used to help people heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that can result from difficult life experiences. It is often assumed that emotional pain takes a long time to heal, but repeated studies show EMDR to be effective in delivering benefits of therapy that once took years to make a difference. Often EMDR is effective when it feels like nothing else has worked to relieve suffering or symptoms.
EMDR works by tapping into your brain’s innate ability to process and store memories through guided techniques, such as following back and forth movements with your eyes, while focusing on negative memories or feelings for brief periods of time. This mimics the way your brain normally clears and integrates daily experiences at night during deep REM (dream) sleep, allowing you to safely and gently process things that have felt distressing so that they lose their emotional intensity - painful memories and experiences come to a place of simply feeling neutral.
What People Experience in an EMDR Intensive:
How It Works: 5 Simple Steps From Start to Finish
-
The first step is a free 20 minute phone or Zoom consultation so that we can talk through an overview of the issues you're wanting to address, how the Intensive process works, and any questions you have.
-
In our 60 minute Intake Session, we’ll dive deeper into your history, problems to address, and desired outcome for your Intensive so that we can create a specific plan to meet your goals. At the end of this session, we’ll have a clear roadmap for what your intensive will look like.
-
After we schedule your Intensive, you’ll receive a personalized workbook that includes assessments and resources for you to complete before our Pre-Intensive Session. I’ll review your completed workbook before we meet so that we have everything we need to jump right into preparation for EMDR in this 60 minute session.
-
We'll meet for 3 hours at a time over 2 days (or more if you desire) to process the memories or triggers we identified that are connected to your goals.
-
Two to four weeks after your Intensive, we'll meet for a 60 minute session to debrief the experience, process any remaining future concerns, and plan how to incorporate and maintain positive changes in your life as you move forward.
On a Personal Note
What would life look like if you could feel more calm, self-assured, relaxed, and able to handle things as they come - by this time next month?
I know how overwhelming it can be to keep bearing up under the weight of a problem that’s impacting your life, but that you’re not sure how to solve. You start to wonder if things can ever change - and even if they can get better but it’s going to take a long time, what do you stand to lose while waiting?
Intensive therapy is my absolute favorite way to create clarity and a path forward, fast. Issues that often take 4-6 months, or more, to address in traditional therapy can be processed in just 2-3 days. No more waiting - you can get your life back.
If you’re looking for a way to feel better faster, so you can move forward with your life now - there’s no better solution I’ve experienced than an EMDR Intensive. I look forward to talking with you in a free consultation to see how we can partner together in this process!
Warmly,
Celia
You could spend years in therapy learning how to cope, manage your feelings, and change your self-talk - or you could resolve this thing at the root so that you no longer have to work so hard all the time to manage it.
In days - not months or years - an EMDR Intensive can help you to…
Engage in life again without feeling triggered anymore - so you can do the things you want or need to without getting overwhelmed, or avoiding them altogether
Overcome anxiety and stop feeling so out of control all the time - instead, regain your confidence and clarity to move forward
Feel more calm, self-assured, and rested so you’re not always so consumed with fear about the future - you can actually be present and at peace
Improve your quality of life because you’re no longer held captive by what happened in the past - instead you’re free to take steps forward
Make progress and see noticeable change quickly - you don’t have to keep living like this, you can sleep well at night, wake up without dread, and go through your days feeling like yourself.
It doesn’t have to take a long time for things to get better. Let’s work together to free you up from what’s holding you back now.

EMDR Intensives can help to process both pain from the past and fear or anxiety over the future. The intensive process works best if you have a support system, some positive coping skills, and a goal for what you’d like to accomplish. An intensive may not be the best fit for you if you’re in active crisis, suicidal, or struggling with addiction or substances.
Examples of issues that intensives are very effective in treating:
Performance anxiety
Upcoming athletic or competitive events
Work anxiety that is interfering with meeting goals
Car accidents
Injuries and falls
Personal injury cases
Medical diagnoses, procedures, or trauma
Pregnancy loss or infertility issues
Past traumatic events, especially single event traumas
Resolution of current symptoms - anxiety, insomnia, triggers
Specific phobias
If you’re not sure or have questions, I can help you decide in a consultation call if an intensive is right for your goals and needs.
-
Sometimes clients find the intensive process so powerful that they finish one and want to process something else in another. We can schedule additional stand alone intensive sessions that are 3 hours in length at the rate of $750. These intensive sessions do not include additional workbooks, pre-intensive sessions, or post-intensive sessions.

EMDR Intensives work well as a treatment to complement your existing therapy. You'll keep your regular therapist throughout your intensive process with me, and I'm happy to coordinate care with your therapist as needed. Intensives are a great option if you already have a therapist you love working with but are feeling stuck in regular weekly therapy, or want to try EMDR and your therapist doesn't offer it.
-
Please reach out and let's talk about how we can coordinate care for your client! EMDR Intensives are a great adjunct service to complement your work in therapy with a client. Your client will remain in your care throughout and after their EMDR Intensive sessions with me, and we can communicate as needed for continuity of care and collaboration.

Intensives are a specialized form of treatment and are not covered by insurance. You are welcome to contact your insurance provider to find out if they will reimburse any portion of your intensive sessions through out of network benefits; if so, I can provide you with a "superbill" so that you can file your own claims.
Financing is available through Care Credit, and payment plans can be arranged this way. A 2 day intensive can be financed with deferred interest starting at 0%, with monthly payments as low as $250. To learn more and apply, click here.
